Sr. Jacqueline L. Delage, CSC

Sister Jacqueline L. Delage, CSC (Sister Gerard of the Cross), 81, died on February 12, 2018 at Holy Cross Health Center after a brief illness.

Born in Nashua on October 17, 1936, the youngest of eleven children, she was the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Villandry) Delage.

Sister Jacqueline entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1956 in Saint Laurent, Canada. She pronounced her final vows in 1963.

Sister Jacqueline had a passion for education, teaching and she loved her students. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Notre Dame College, Manchester. She taught elementary and junior high schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross in N. Grosvenordale, CT, Springfield, MA, and Nashua, NH. She served as principal of St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Springfield, MA, and as Director of Religious Education Programs in Greenville, NH, Brandon, FL, and Suncook, NH. Sr. Jacqueline was the interim administrator of Holy Cross Health Center, and began the Development Office of the Sisters of Holy Cross, USA Region, serving as director for ten years.

Sr. Jacqueline is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters; and four brothers.

All services are Thursday, February 15 in the chapel at the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd, Manchester. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:15 am, with a Prayer Service beginning at 9:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, followed by burial in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
