Roger A. Fortin
NASHUA – Roger A. Fortin, 85 of Nashua, NH died November 1st, 2016, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH following a period of declining health.
He was born in Nashua, NH on April 6, 1931, the son of Francis and Alice (Declos) Fortin. He attended Nashua public schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1949. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was stationed at Quonset Point, Rhode Island and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Roger was a machinist in Nashua for most of his adult life, working at International Paper Box, Royal Business Forms, and Nashua Corporation. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the lake house. He also enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, and was an avid sports fan for all New England teams.
Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Yvette T. (Lepine) Fortin. Family includes one daughter, Michelle R. Durand and her husband Roger of Amherst, NH; two sons, Maurice N. Fortin of Seabrook, NH and Donald R. Fortin and his wife Amy of Bedford, NH; and his seven grandchildren.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Catholic Mass of Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 14th at 10 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 777 West Hollis Street.
