James (Ed) O’Brien Jr.
James (Ed) O’Brien Jr., 95, of Nashua, NH, passed away July 3 at his home at Langdon Place. Ed was born in North Billerica, MA, on September 8, 1920, son of the late James and Gertrude O’Brien (Le Lacheur). Ed was the widower of his beloved wife Evelyn (Lawrenson) O’Brien. Ed is survived by his son Jim O’Brien from Nashua, NH, and daughter Peg Lovett and her husband Jack of Hollis, NH; his eight grandchildren and their spouses, Karen (Lovett) and husband Howard Hall, Donna (Lovett) and husband Michael Tabor, Kevin O’Brien and wife Karen, Linda (O’Brien) and husband Carl Morris, Kirsten (O’Brien) and husband Rob Azevedo, Dereck O’Brien, Samantha O’Brien and Ross O’Brien; his fifteen great-grandchildren, Meagan, Riley, Sydney T., Cooper, Alex, Aidan, Colin, Christopher, Cameron, Sydney M., Addison, Bennett, Weston, Natalie, Layla and one great-great-grandchild, Lucy; his sisters, Pauline Cushing, Chelmsford, MA, Kay Connors, Lowell, MA; brother Dan O’Brien, No. Billerica, MA; brothers-in-law Robert Meyers, Hampstead, NH, and Donald Collinge, Hernando, FL. Ed’s deceased sisters Dorothy Meyers, Hampstead, NH; Rita Burgess, Dracut, MA and Faith Collinge of Hernando, Florida. In addition to many nieces and nephews.
Ed honorably served our country during WWII in the U.S. Coast Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Raytheon for many years.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, July 9, 10:00 AM, for a "Celebration of Life" service to be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH.
Burial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
