Apr 20, 2016

Robert R. "Bob" Pinsonneault, former executive of the Nashua Trust Company, died in Nashua on April 14, 2016, at the age of 88.

Bob joined the U.S. Navy during World War II at the age of 17 and served in a Combat Aircraft Service Unit in California, before shipping out on an escort aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Barnes, at the war’s end. He was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 3rd Class (Disbursing).

Bob’s experience in the Navy led him to a lifelong career in the financial services industry, beginning with Commercial Credit Corporation, where during the 1950s and 60s, he was a loan supervisor for the New England states (except Massachusetts), New York and Pennsylvania. He went to work at the Nashua Trust Company in 1968, after working for a few years in a consulting firm that managed bank loans to fund auto dealers’ acquisition of inventory. Bob retired in 1989 from the Nashua Trust as sr. vice president.

For many years Bob was active in numerous business and civic organizations, including the NH Auto Dealers Association, New England Bank Card Association, where he was a director, Bank Marketing Association, Kiwanis, Nashua Girls Club and the Boy Scouts of America.

Bob was born June 23, 1927, in Manchester, a son of the late Wilfred and Ida (Bourque) Pinsonneault. He was married in 1950 to the late Georgette (Montplaisir) Pinsonneault, until her passing; and had been married to Mary (Emberley) Pinsonneault since January 11, 1979. After Bob’s retirement, he and Mary moved to N. Hutchinson Island, FL, where they enjoyed an active lifestyle and close friendships for 22 years. They returned to Nashua in 2014 to be closer to family.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his sons, Attorney David K. Pinsonneault and his wife Barbara of Amherst and Randall G. Pinsonneault and his wife Catherine of Nashua; his brother Wilfred "Pete" Pinsonneault and his wife Margaret of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Robert L.
