Ann Gessaman Kidd

Ann Gessaman Kidd passed away on Dec. 9th, with her husband of seventy years at her side. She was born in 1925 to Myron and Marie Gessaman in Columbus, OH. Her father was a longtime public servant in Ohio, serving as mayor of Columbus and as a judge. Ann graduated from Ohio State University and began a career as an occupational therapist in mental health settings. She married Marshall Kidd in December 1945 and the two of them left Columbus for the East. They lived primarily in Haddon Heights, NJ, Wayland, MA and Woodbridge, CT, finally retiring to Nashua, NH. Ann’s most beloved home was a cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, a place of beauty, serenity and family gatherings for half a century. She was a kind and loving mother to her three children and she took great pleasure in her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her gentle and thoughtful manner, as well as her appreciation of nature and the arts. Ann will be missed by her husband, Marshall Kidd of Nashua, NH; brother David Gessaman (Barbara) of Columbus, OH; sons Steven Kidd (Margie) of Pepperell, MA, and Gary Kidd (Patricia Knapp) of Bloomington, IN; daughter Cynthia Denison (Charles) of Big Sky, MT; grandchildren Rebekah Hewitt (Mark) of Asheville, NC; Charlie Denison of Lewistown, MT; Jacqueline Kidd of Westford, MA; Melissa Kidd of Boston, MA; Elizabeth Kidd of Washington, DC; and two great-grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her brother Richard Gessaman and her granddaughter Sarah Kidd. A remembrance of Ann will be held at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH, at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 4th.
