Professor Albert Jacobbe

Dec 6, 2015

Professor Albert Jacobbe embarked on a new adventure November 24, 2015. A life-long educator and learner, Albert spent his 76 years satisfying his insatiable curiosity for life. He began his education in Dorchester, MA, attended Boston College after high school and continued to Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI for advanced studies, majoring in languages and philosophy. His teaching career spanned many years and locales, from the southern New Hampshire area, where he taught philosophy, business ethics and film studies, to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where he taught English and American culture. Albert also provided strategic planning and consulting services to New England institutions of higher education.

Albert approached life with an inclusive philosophy and his interests were wide and eclectic, imbuing his passion for teaching, learning, travel, film and music. He enjoyed old movie serials, "A Fish Called Wanda," the opera "Carmen," Mannheim Steamroller, crayon creations and the masterpieces of the Louvre. A true citizen of the world, Albert bridged cultures easily, comfortable in his native New England as he was in Italy, Greece and the Far East.

Surviving Albert are three of his four siblings, Ann McDonough from Quincy MA, Mary Jacobbe from Nashua NH, and George Jacobbe from Atlanta, GA. His younger sister, Betty Jacobbe, predeceased him. He is also survived by his former spouse Nancy Zamoiski and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his family, Albert leaves a multitude of former students and friends across the world that he touched with his intellect, creative imagination, wicked sense of humor and indefatigable love of learning, appreciation of art and music and, especially, his thoughtful kindness.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Rd., Nashua NH. The family will receive guests from 10-11am in the church foyer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UNICEF.
