Benita Mason Birch
Sept. 13, 1949-March 16, 2015
Long time resident of Sky Meadow, Nashua, NH, and Fiddlers Creek, Naples, Florida
"I regret it all; every hour blown in talk, the money spent, my passionate stupidities, but could I have arrived here from anywhere else but there?"
– William Corbett
Benita passed peacefully after a long and courageous fight with cancer. With utmost elegance and sophistication–and a tasteful dose of irreverence, she empowered us by showing us how to defy the odds when dealing with such a ravaging disease. She touched many lives with her love of life, and she was the very best friend anyone could ask for.
Benita was a world traveler, a member of the National Geographic Circumnavigators, an avid animal lover, and devoted philanthropist volunteering her time to the Merrimack Hospice House, animal rescues, and to the general well being of others. She will remain exquisite to those whose life she’s touched. Rest in peace, you will always be loved and never forgotten.
She is survived by her beloved son, Christopher Mason of New York City, her mother, Blanche Volpe and sister, Nina Angela McKissock. In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the New England Animal Rescue.
