Robert J. Jobin

Robert Joseph Jobin, 85, of Nashua, husband of Lillian J. (Joyal) Jobin, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday evening, October 10, 2014 at the Huntington at Nashua, after a period of declining health.

A native of Keene, NH, Mr. Jobin was born on December 2, 1928, a son of the late Joseph H. and Alma G. (Dubois) Jobin. He was a graduate of Keene High School Class of 1946.

Bob and his wife Lillian were married at St. Bernard’s Church in Keene on May 6, 1950. They made their home in Keene until 1956, when they relocated to St. Johnsbury, VT for three years. They moved to Nashua in 1959 and resided here for 40 years and then in Laconia for 12 years. In 2011, the couple returned to Nashua to reside at the Huntington at Nashua.

Mr. Jobin began his career as a sales representative with the Metropolitan Insurance Company and then with Sanders Associates, Inc. as a production editor for 23 years. In retirement, Bob and Lil traveled extensively throughout the USA and Canada. Bob followed many sports teams, especially hockey and the New York Yankees at the top of his watch list.

Members of his family include his wife, Lillian, with whom he shared 64 wonderful years together; four children and their spouses, David and Cindy Jobin of Lunenburg, MA, Michelle and Richard Marquis of Merrimack, Stephen and Luann Jobin of Merrimack and William and Joyce Jobin of Hudson; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren;
four brothers, Paul Jobin, Bruno Jobin and his wife Beryl, Raymond Jobin and his wife Dorothy, and Denis Jobin and his wife Pauline all of Keene; a sister, Claire Castagna of Keene; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by two brothers, Gerard Jobin and Leo Jobin; and a sister, Lucienne DeBonville.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care and support by the entire Huntington Community, the staff of Kent Village and the staff of Home Health & Hospice.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 East Dunstable Road, Nashua on Monday, October 20th at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Keene at a later date. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054 or to the Huntington Scholarship Fund, 55 Kent Lane, Nashua, NH 03062.
