Richard Ploof
Richard Ploof, 61, of Hollis, passed away on Sunday, September 14, after a long illness. He was born on September 23, 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of the late William and Anne Ploof.
His survivors include his wife of 30 years, Nancy; his stepdaughter, Christy McNiss of Wilton, NH; and three grandchildren; his sister, Sandra Ploof of Virginia; his brother, Bill Ploof and his wife Laura of Virginia; his niece, Christine Ann Ploof and her son Timothy Nielson; his aunt, Alberta Turner of Melrose, Massachusetts; and his mother-in-law, Gloria Stultz of Englewood, Florida.
Rick grew up in Boston, where he earned a degree in drafting. He later moved to New Hampshire. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He also loved sushi, and reading the Sunday comics, and he never missed the opportunity to get in a good pun.
Throughout his life he owned several businesses, including a karate studio, where he was an instructor and third-degree black belt. His most recent business in motor vehicle titles and registration earned him the respect of town clerks all over the state of New Hampshire, and he will be greatly missed by many.
