Margery E. Jensen

Margery E. (Lear) Jensen, 95, a lifelong Nashua resident, widow of Niles F. Jensen, died Thursday afternoon, February 13, 2014 at her home at The Hunt Community.

A daughter of the late Charles L. and Esther E. (Shenton) Lear, Mrs. Jensen was born in Nashua on April 25, 1918. Margery was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1936 and furthered her education at Chandler Secretarial School in Boston.

Margery worked as a secretary and assisted her husband in the operation of N.F. Jensen Company of Nashua for a number of years.

She was a parishioner of the Episcopal Church of The Good Shepherd for many years and was a member of the Daughters Group of the church. Margery was a longtime member of the Nashua Country Club. In her leisure time, Mrs. Jensen enjoyed traveling, vacationing at Pleasant Point, Maine, and Naples, Florida, and collecting Wedgewood.

Margery and her husband Niles were married on April 20, 1940 and shared 64 wonderful years together until his death on July 28, 2004. She was also predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Laquerre and her husband Ralph; a nephew Col. Allan White and his wife Joy; a brother-in-law Donald G. White; a sister-in-law Julianna White; and four brothers-in-law, Regnard, Axel, William, and Harold.

Members of her family include her son, Niles F. Jensen Jr. of Nashua; nieces and nephews including Carol J. Austin and her husband Richard of Moultonboro, NH, Donna Pittman and her husband Gary of Charlotte, VT, and Brenda (White) Sergeant of Concord, NH.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Her funeral service will be held in the Mausoleum of Woodlawn Cemetery, 101 Kinsley Street, Nashua, Saturday, February 22nd at 11 a.m. The Rev. Alanna M. Van Antwerpen, Assistant Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, c/o Development Office, Dartmouth – Hitchcock Medical Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756-0001.
