Phyllis O. Hargraves

Phyllis O. (Allen) Hargraves, 84, of Nashua, widow of Robert P. Hargraves, died Sunday morning, December 22, 2013 at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare in Nashua after a period of declining health.

A lifelong Nashua resident, Phyllis was born here on July 29, 1929 a daughter of the late Rosario and Yvonne (Desrosiers) Allen. She attended Infant Jesus Parochial School and was a graduate of the former St. Louis High School for Girls Class of 1947. Mrs. Hargraves continued her education at Holy Ghost Hospital School of Nursing in Cambridge, MA.

Mrs. Hargraves began her career at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua and then worked at RdF Corporation in Hudson for 35 years.

An independent person, Phyllis lived her life her way. She enjoyed flower gardening in her leisure time. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, Robert P. "Bo" Hargraves who died May 1, 1993; and two brothers, Robert D. Allen and Gerald A. Allen and his wife Rita.

Members of her family include a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Gisele Allen of Amherst, NH; a sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Terry Nakashima of Sunnyvale, CA; a sister-in-law, Madeleine Allen of Nashua; also nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 50 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Saturday January 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
