Joan M. Jalbert

Nov 19, 2013

Joan M. Jalbert, 81, died Friday, November 15, 2013, at her home in Concord, NH. She was born on September 2, 1932, in Burlington, VT, to Joseph Oney Raymond and Myrtie (Sulham) Raymond of Morrisville, VT.

Joan grew up in Nashua, NH, and graduated from Nashua High School in 1950. She married Walter L. Jalbert in 1952. Together they raised three children in Hudson, NH, and she worked at the Nashua Trust Company until her retirement in 1989. Joan and Walter then moved to “The Villages of Seaport” in Cape Canaveral, FL, where they resided until this summer, when they moved back to New Hampshire.

Joan was pre-deceased by both of her parents, her sister, June (Cadorette) Dobens; and her sister-in-law, Lorraine (Noyes) Dieshner. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter; and their three children, Susan Bernard and her husband, Paul, of Concord, NH, John Jalbert of Hudson, NH, and Sally Gero and her husband, Donald, of Goffstown, NH.

Joan dearly loved her four grandchildren, Sarah Jalbert of Seattle, WA, Luke Jalbert of Hudson, NH, Jonathan Bernard of Concord, NH, and Victoria Dussault of Concord, NH. She is also survived by her stepsister, Lucille Salvail; three brothers-in-law, James Jalbert and his wife Janet, Frank Jalbert and Nancy, and George Dobens; as well as two sisters-in-law, Dolly Carter and Bob, and Jeanine Fecteau; and her many loved nieces and nephews. Joan also leaves behind many dear friends including Don and Rita Shepard and their family, Jeanne Jalbert, Del, Kenny, and John Clark, Connie Erikson, the late Frank Wilson, his wife Connie and family, and all of her special friends at the “Villages of Seaport.” She had many great memories of her years in Florida and often recalled the fun she had playing cards and dominoes with all her card playing friends. Throughout her life she remained a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, especially enjoying this year’s great Red Sox win of the World Series.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Crematorium Society of NH at 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH chapel from 6-8pm.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Concord VNA and Hospice at CRVNA.org or the charity of one’s choice. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements. For more information or to view an on-line guestbook and memorial, please go to www.csnh.com.
