Raymond G. Levesque

Raymond G. Levesque, 85, a native and lifelong Nashua resident, passed away Monday evening, August 26, 2013, at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Nashua on October 13, 1927, he was the eldest son of the late John B. and Laura (Blier) Levesque. Raymond attended the former Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Nashua High School. A Navy veteran, Mr. Levesque served as a Seaman First Class in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he continued his education at Lowell Tech, now known as the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where he earned his degree.

Mr. Levesque had been employed with Sanders Associates and their successor BAE Systems as an environmental engineer for many years. In his leisure time, Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by a grandson, David Levesque Jr.; and two brothers, Paul and Andrew Levesque.

Members of his family include his wife, Irene B. (Maynard) Levesque, whom he married on Memorial Day in 1949 and shared the past 64 years together; three sons and their wives, Raymond Jr. and Patricia Levesque, Daniel and Jennifer Levesque and David and Brenda Levesque; four daughters and their husbands, Anne Levesque, Mary Jane and Arthur Gardiner, Jennie and Jordan Wright and Kathleen and John Keane; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, John and Sandra Levesque; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the New Life Christian Church, 272 Lowell Road in Hudson, Saturday morning, August 31st at 11 o’clock. Family and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. The family has requested that donations may be made in his memory to Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115-5724.
