Gary Thomas Vazquez

Aug 27, 2013

Gary Thomas Vazquez, 59, died on Sunday, August 25, 2013 after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. He fought this disease for two years, never complaining, always fighting for as much time as possible with his family.

He was born on July 21, 1954 in Queens, New York, the son of Eleanor (Hummel) Vazquez and the late Anthony Vazquez. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Esielionis) Vazquez.

Gary did his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Albany, and went on to earn his MBA from UCLA. Most of his career was spent working in financial management for General Electric and Kodak.

He was very intelligent and had a quick, dry sense of humor. He could be described as very focused, determined and goal oriented, which helped him fight so hard in his battle against a very aggressive cancer. Above all he was always a family man and was very proud of all his daughters’ achievements.

Along with his wife, Mary Jane and mother, Eleanor, he is survived by his daughters, Lauren Vazquez who attends Pomona College in Claremont, CA, and twins, Kerry Vazquez who attends Quinnipiac in CT and Lindsey Vazquez who attends Northeastern University in Boston, MA; two sisters, Susan Dorre and husband John of Long Island, NY and Karen Stewart and husband Arthur of York, ME; two nephews, Ryan Pierce of Monterey, CA and Bryan Dorre of Long Island, NY; a niece, Christine Dorre of Long Island, NY.

SERVICES: Memorial Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street in Nashua. A Memorial Service will follow visitation on Wednesday, 7pm, at the Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend.
