Ellen M. (Warrington) Savage
Ellen M. (Warrington) Savage, 64, of Litchfield, NH, wife of Gregory T. Savage, died at her home Friday afternoon, July 5, 2013 after a two and a half year battle with breast cancer.
A resident of Litchfield for many years, Ellen was born in Nashua on March 10, 1949, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Agnes M. (Bankowski) Warrington. Educated in local schools, Mrs. Savage was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1967 and the University of New Hampshire where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in History in 1971. Ellen continued her education at Southern New Hampshire University where she earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems in 1997 and earned a second Masters degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts in 2006.
In addition to raising her family, Ellen had been employed for 27 years by the State of New Hampshire in the Department of Employment Security as an Employment Counselor and Unemployment Adjudicator and also worked for the Department of Environmental Services as a computer systems analyst.
After retiring from the State of New Hampshire, Ellen went on to work another twelve years for the City of Lowell School Department as a math teacher and a
content-focused coach for math teachers.
Members of her family include her husband of 41 years, Gregory T. Savage; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lauren Savage and Johanna and Matthew Simonen all of Litchfield; two sisters, Eileen Warrington of San Diego, CA and Cate Warrington of Merrimack; three brothers, Charles Warrington of Nashua, John Warrington of Hudson and Les Warrington of Merrimack; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Christopher Church, 62 Manchester Street, Nashua, Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend and will gather at the church.
