Ronald Renna Sr.
Ronald Renna, Sr., 65, of Nashua, husband of Veronica C. (Fagga) Renna, died Monday afternoon, July 1, 2013 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester surrounded by his family.
Born in Flushing, New York, on June 26, 1948 he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Carmella A. (Christallo) Renna. Educated in New York schools, Ron was a graduate of Flushing High School Class of 1964. He began his career in the supermarket business as Deli Manager at the Big Apple store in Westbury, NY and then with the former First National Stores (Finast) in New York and continued with First National in Nashua beginning in 1977.
A talented chef, Ron began a second career in the restaurant business as the owner and operator of The Little Venice I & II in Nashua and Pappa’s in Amherst. His most recent work was for Tulley Automotive Group in Nashua.
Mr. Renna was a communicant of the Parish of The Resurrection in Nashua and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No 11573. Additionally, he was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly Number 1506 in Nashua. Ron was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Jets.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a brother, Richard M. Renna of Nashua who died December 20, 2005.
Members of his family include his wife Veronica, whom he married on April 24, 1976; ten children and their spouses, Helen M. Lavoie and her fiance William Phillips of Nashua, Kathleen A. Renna of St. Johnsbury, VT, James P. and Jennifer L. Renna of Pembroke, Veronica C. Renna of Amherst, Michael F. and Mercedes Renna of Murrieta, CA, Eileen P. Renna of Nashua, Patrick T. and Jennifer L. Renna of Hingham, MA, Dawn and Mark Kaplan of Brandon, MS, Jacqueline and Michael VanNee of Glendale, AZ and Ronald Renna and his fiancee Carla Domenech of Virginia; 25 grandchildren, Ronald Renna III, T.J. Lavoie, David Lavoie, Veronica C. Renna, Aimee Lavoie, Tori C. Renna, Ariana Renna, Haley Warren, Kelly A. Renna, Nicole Renna, Taylor Renna, Dylan Renna, Samantha Renna, Jack Renna, Victoria VanNee, Jacqueline VanNee, Mackenzee VanNee, Mikaela VanNee, Christina Kaplan, Mark Kaplan, Brooke Kaplan, Alyssa Kaplan, Valerie Renna, Ronald Renna, Dominic Renna; 4 great-grandchildren, Jayden Renna, Dominik Lavoie-Lugo, Marshall Kaplan, and Kaylie Kaplan; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Robert P. and Marie Renna of Palm City, FL and Jeanette Renna of Nashua; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis J. and Anne G. Fagga of Burlington, VT; a sister-in-law, Barbara A. Fagga of Essex, VT; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Friday, July 5th from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Parish of The Resurrection, 449 Broad Street, Nashua, Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.
