Sylvio R. ‘Sonny’ Michaud

Sylvio R. “Sonny” Michaud, 72, of Nashua and Davenport, FL, died Friday afternoon, June 21, 2013 surrounded by his family. Sonny was a beloved husband, father and friend. He was taken from us far too soon.

A lifelong resident of this city, Sonny was born in Nashua on October 25, 1940 a son of the late George A. and Florence B. (Cardin) Michaud and was educated in local schools.

Mr. Michaud was a respected master woodworker by trade and had been employed for many years at Indian Head Millwork and Lochhead Millwork both of Nashua and later was self employed in the commercial construction industry.

Sonny and his wife Marcia enjoyed spending winters in Florida for the past several years. One of his favorite hobbies was remodeling his home. Mr. Michaud held memberships in the Lafayette Club and Club National both of Nashua.

One of sixteen children, Sonny was predeceased by seven brothers, George, Claude, Lawrence, Alfred, Alan, Paul and Reginald Michaud; and two sisters, Jacqueline DeCato and Suzanne Schuster.

Members of his family include his wife, Marcia (Ingerson) Michaud, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29th; three children, Scott Michaud and his wife Christine of Merrimack, Marc Michaud and his wife Anita, and Lori St. Laurent and her husband Bruce Gauthier all of Nashua; six grandchildren, Eric and Tyler Michaud, Randy and Ryan St. Laurent, Evan and Kayla Michaud; a great-grandson, Jordan Michaud; five brothers and their wives, Roger and Mary Michaud of Melbourne, FL, Gerald and Tina Michaud of Nashua, Royal and Ida Michaud, Russell and Melanie Michaud and Roland and Marion Michaud all of Hudson; a sister and her husband, Estelle and James Murray of Arizona; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph The Worker Parish, 777 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Friday at 9 o’clock.
