Scott E. Merrill
Nashua, NH- Scott E. Merrill, 56, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 24th, at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center in Nashua. He was the beloved husband of 32 years to Gail (Quinn) Merrill.
Scott was born in Lowell on March 18, 1957, a son of the late Ethel (Eldridge) and Harold Merrill. He was educated in Dracut and a graduate of Dracut High School. He received his Bachelors Degree from Brown University, a Master of Science in Finance from Bentley University and an MBA from Rivier College.
Scott was an employee of BAE Systems and its heritage companies for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays. Scott was a coach when his children were growing up, an avid golfer and New England Patriots fan. He knew the balance between work and life.
Along with his wife Gail, Scott is survived and will be deeply missed by his 2 daughters, Kimberly Merrill of Nashua and Lauren Hamernik and her husband Robert of Washington D.C.,,his cherished grandchildren, Ava and Jake Hamernik and Lillianna Merrill; brothers, Harold “Fred” Merrill III and his wife Pamela of Belmont, NH, and Gary C. Merrill of Cary, NC; his mother and father in-law, Thomas and Sophia Quinn of Dracut; brother in-law, Thomas Quinn Jr. of Methuen; sister in-law, Deborah Sevigny and her husband Ronald of Nashua; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Scott was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Merrill who died in 2002.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on TUESDAY, May 28th from 4-8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave. DRACUT. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Christ Church United in Dracut, MA on WEDNESDAY, May 29th. Burial will follow in Richardson Cemetery, in Dracut. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Scott’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300. Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
