Raymond Mackechnie Flynn Jr.

Raymond Mackechnie Flynn Jr., 90 of Nashua and former longtime resident of Acton, MA, died at the Hunt Community on October 2, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Flynn was born on July 18, 1922, in Middletown, NY, son the late Raymond M. Sr. and Ruth (Stillwell) Flynn.

He was the husband of Beatrice (Willman) Flynn, whom he married on September 10, 1944.

He worked for General Electric and Honeywell in their accounting departments and for many years was a tax preparer in Boston and from his home.

Mr. Flynn will be remembered as Pop-pop to many. His generosity and love of family and friends was his way of life.

Among his many interests were hunting and fishing. He liked to bowl and play golf. Fraternally, he was a member of the Masons for over 66 years. Currently, he was a member of Rising Sun Lodge #39, F & AM in Nashua, and he was raised in Hoffman Lodge #412 in Middletown, NY. He was also a member and Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pilgrim Chapter #55.

He was educated in Eldred, NY graduating from high school there. Following his graduation, he attended Krissler Commercial School for accounting in Poughkeepsie, NY.

He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his sister Mary Woodin; his daughters, Nancy Robinson, Barbara R. Hagberg and her companion Dick Milham, and Lisa Britko; his grandchildren, John Hagberg and his wife Katrina Elizabeth Robinson, Benjamin Hagberg and his fiancee Laura Nasuti, and Allyson Britko with her father, Michael Britko; two great-grandchildren, Lauren A. and Eric R. Hagberg; a nephew, Roger Woodin and his wife Sue and a niece, Cathy Woodin and their families. He was predeceased by a nephew, Terry Woodin.

SERVICES: A Memorial Service in his honor will held at the Acton Congregational Church, 12 Concord Rd., Acton, MA on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM. Interment prayers and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Woodlawn Cemetery in Acton. Masonic Funeral Services for Mr. Flynn conducted by the officers and members of the Rising Sun Lodge #39 and Pilgrim Chapter #55 OES will be held at the DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock St, Nashua on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM, his family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until the Masonic services.
