Walter Trojan

Walter Trojan, 95, most recently of Durham, NH, died on May 14, 2012 at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover after a brief illness. 

Walter Trojan was born on May 7, 1917 in Chicago, IL, He was the oldest son of Onufry and Martha Karpa Trojan.  He was a resident of Durham for seven years and prior to that he lived in Nashua for 45 years.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Anthoulis Trojan. They had been married for 63 years. They married the day he left the Army. 

He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army, having served from February 1942 to October 1945.  Most of this time was spent in the Alaska theatre of operations.

His family was the focus of his life.  He had a large extended family through his wife, Mary, mostly in New England.  

Walter was a business owner in Nashua and owned Walt’s Super Shell for a number of years. He also worked for Fleet Bank. He was a communicant of Saint Thomas More. 

He is survived by his sister Mary Goretzka and predeceased by his brother Theodore Trojan.

Walter is survived by his three sons and daughter in laws, James Walter Trojan of Greenville, SC, George Anthoulis and Ellen Trojan of Lee, NH,  Michael Nicholas and Cynthia Trojan of Dover, NH.  Walter has eight grandchildren; George Trojan Jr, Brian Trojan, Amanda Trojan McGrath, Matthew Trojan, Sarah Trojan, Rebekkah Trojan, Nicholas Sexton and Jessica Sexton Montgomery; and three great-grandchildren, Abby Trojan, Brianna Sexton Montgomery and Caroline McGrath; and several nieces and nephews.   

SERVICES: A period of visitation will be held on Friday May 18th at the Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Christopher’s Church, 62 Manchester St, Nashua.  Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua.
