Robert E. Waters

Robert E. (Bob) Waters, 77, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, Massachusetts.

He was born on September 17, 1934 in Rome, New York the son of J. Clinton and Mary Burns Waters.

Bob was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy and Le Moyne College. He was employed as a computer analyst by the United States Air Force and retired from Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.

Bob proudly served in the United States Navy from 1953-1956.

He was a member and usher at Saint Christopher’s Church in Nashua and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and hiking mountains throughout the world. Bob was a fan of all Boston’s sports teams.

Surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, John F. (Jack) Waters and D. James and Carol Waters, and one sister, Dolores Cornish, all of Rome; three nieces, Linda Waters Reed, Sheila Waters Rakowski and Beth Cornish Sciulli; and eight nephews, John Waters, James Waters, Michael Waters, Dennis Waters, Kevin Cornish, Brian Cornish, Steven Cornish and Scott Cornish; and many special friends in Nashua. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Ruth Waters, a brother-in-law, Frank Cornish, and two nephews, David Waters and Patrick Waters.

His family wishes to acknowledge the many longtime friends who provided friendship and support to Bob, especially Don and Dot Fay, Debra Haupt-Renaud and his hiking friend, George Hudson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Philip Hearn officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, 418 North George Street, Rome, New York on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
