Richard A. Whitney
Richard A. Whitney, 73, of Wilton, NH, passed away Monday March 19 at the Kindred Healthcare Facility at Greenbriar in Nashua, NH.
Richard was born on May 23, 1938, the son of Edgar and Edna Whitney.
He was a lifelong resident of Wilton and owned and operated R. A. Whitney Plumbing and Heating for several years. He served in the National Guard. He was a farmer, a machinist at Hitchner Manufacturing, and also worked at Fletcher paints in Milford, NH and Davidson Septic Service of Wilton. Richard was an avid fisherman and loved animals, auctions, antiquing, and yard sales.
Richard is survived by his eight children, Debbie and Richard Bourassa, Paul and Melissa Demello, John and Diane Demello, Barbara and George Mudgett, Helen Gallagher, Joann Oley, Jacquelyn and James McInerney all of NH, and William and Claire Demello of VT; his brothers Donald Whitney and Ernest Whitney; and a special cousin David Hall. He had 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also, his only surviving Aunt Alice and her husband Francis Boutwell.
He is predeceased by his wives, Ruth Margaret Demello Whitney and Sharon Whitney, two sisters Marion and Irene and brother Edgar.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Lung Association in Manchester, NH1800 Elm Street, Unit D Manchester, NH 03104.
