Jay M. Kerrigan Sr.

Jay M. Kerrigan, Sr. of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on December 13th 2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lowell, MA on December 29, 1953, the son of the late Warren and Dorothy (Scanlon) Kerrigan Sr.

Jay spent his childhood in Lowell, MA graduating from Lowell High School, Class of 1972. He later moved to Tyngsborough, MA, where he raised his family. After graduating, he began his banking career at Union National Bank in Lowell. He continued his career path at Coolidge Bank and Trust in Tyngsborough, while attending Newberry College, earning a degree in business. Jay was the Founder and President of First New England Mortgage in Nashua, for twenty four years, recently retiring to spend time with his family and friends. He was a long time communicant of St. Patrick’s in Nashua. He enjoyed traveling, cooking and gardening. Jay’s greatest and proudest achievement in life is his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and were blessed to have had him in their lives.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Peter Kerrigan.

He is survived by two sons, Jay M. Kerrigan Jr. and his wife Stacey of Hudson, NH and Blake A. Kerrigan and his finance Sheena DeLeo of Tyngsborough, MA; two daughters, Alison F. Kerrigan of Tyngsborough, MA and Shannon M. Kerrigan of Litchfield, NH; his first granddaughter, Molly J. Kerrigan; two brothers, Warren Kerrigan and his wife Loretta of Shirley, MA and Brian Kerrigan of Lowell, M; a sister, Lynne Slattery and her husband Joseph of Pelham, NH; two former wives, Lorraine Kerrigan of Litchfield and Lynne Ferreira of Tyngsborough; an uncle, Richard Scanlon of Lowell; a cousin, Glenn Olsen also of Lowell; as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends, including Massimo Hagen.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 4 PM to 8 PM at ZIS-SWEENEY FUNERAL HOME, 26 KINSLEY STREET, NASHUA, NH 03060. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Patrick Church in Nashua. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jay’s name to the Nashua Children’s Home, 125 Amherst Street, Nashua, NH 03064 or the Salvation Army, 217 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
