Louise Anna (Dalton) Bracey

On Friday September 2nd 2011, Louise Anna (Dalton) Bracey passed away peacefully,

surrounded by family at the Woodbriar Nursing Facility in Wilmington, MA. She was the loving wife of the late Harold B. Bracey for 59 years, and the devoted mother of 7 children.

Born and raised in Grygla, Minnesota on February 11, 1925, she was the daughter of Walter and Ida Pearl (Davis ) Dalton. There she graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls and traveled about the country doing various jobs. Washington State is where she met her husband “Harry” (he was in the Armed Services) and they were married on January 1st, 1948.

They came back east and settled in the Boston area, where they raised their 7 children. They lived in various places such as Brighton, Newton, Malden and Woburn.

After the children were all grown, Louise and Harry moved to Nashua, New Hampshire where, they lived for twenty six years.

Later in retirement, Louise and Harry built a home in Palm Coast, FL. They both loved the ocean and the beach.

Louise was a dedicated and devoted homemaker. She was quite the seamstress. She could make anything from drapes, clothes, slipcovers or anything that was needed at the time. She was also a handyman around the house. Need wallpapering done ask Louise. She was quite proficient.

During retirement Louise and Harry loved traveling. They would visit various places in Minnesota, Vermont, Virginia, California. This was their time together.

Surviving her are her six children; Lucinda Freedman and her husband Larry of Canton, Thomas Bracey and his wife Sharon of Malden, Robert Bracey and his wife Linda of Woburn, Roger Bracey and his wife Chom-Suk of Lowell, Sandra Fabiano and her husband of John of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Joan Zoukis and her husband Chris of Milford, NH. She has 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Donald Dalton of West Roxbury, Barbara Melanson of East Kingston N.H., Beverly Jackson of Hudson N.H. and Shirley Walsh of Everett.

Preceding her in death were her daughter Jeanne Bracey, her brothers Raymond Dalton, and Cliff Dalton, and her sisters Lila Schock and Lula Mae Dalton.

A funeral service will be held at the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant Street, WOBURN, Friday, September 9th at 10:00 AM.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at St. Louis Cemetery. Route 111, Nashua N.H.
