Betty Desboisbriand

Betty Desboisbriand, 74, a resident of Antrim, NH passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 in the Monadnock Hospital in Peterborough, NH. She was born in Manchester, NH on June 5, 1937, a daughter of the late Lewis M. and Ruth (Nelson) Piatek.

Betty grew up on Lowell Road in Hudson, NH and later graduated from Alvirne High School, Class of 1955. While living in Nashua she worked for Royal Business Forms and also for Corriveau Insurance. She enjoyed her vacations in Maine and going to county fairs, especially the Hopkinton Fair. Betty will be remembered for her passion for NASCAR; Carl Edwards #99 was her favorite driver. She was also a huge fan of the Boston sports teams; Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. Betty was an outgoing and friendly person with a deep love for her family, especially for her granddaughters.

She is survived by a son, Gary Desboisbriand and his wife Patti of Milford, NH; two daughters, Ellen Cambray and her partner Stephen Plouffe of Pembroke, NH and Donna Merrill of Weare, NH; her two granddaughters, Shannon Desboisbriand and Katelyn Merrill; her sister, Sandra Allen and her partner Harry Roberts of Sandstrom, VA; and a nephew, Steve Allen, his wife Donielle and their three children, Brett, Brennan and Brittany. She is also survived by her special friends, Sami Salameh of Arizona, Kim Kostiew of Hampstead, NH, Barbara Davey of Londonderry and Connie Fellows of Hillsboro, NH, and by her special roommates, Linda Spade and Brian Cook, both of Antrim. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger P. Desboisbriand, in 1998.

Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 10:00am until 12:00 noon in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua.
