Pauline C. Dion

Pauline C. (Jambard) Dion, 65, of Tequesta, Florida, wife of Robert E. Dion, and formerly of Nashua, died Monday evening, May 2, 2011 at the Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida, after a long illness.

A native of this city, Pauline was born on November 18, 1945, a daughter of the late Ralph and Eva Rose (Lavoie) Jambard. Pauline was a graduate of the former St. Louis de Gonzague High School (for girls), Class of 1962. She later attended Rivier College, where she earned a bachelors degree in Education in 1972.

Mrs. Dion taught school in Nashua for eighteen years, starting at Infant Jesus Parochial School from 1972-1977 and then at the Bicentennial Elementary School from 1977-1991.

Pauline and her husband Bob were married in Nashua on September 20, 1966. They made their home in Nashua for many years and have resided in Florida for the past ten years. Pauline was a warm and outgoing person, who became a friend to everyone she met. She and Bob were known as gracious hosts. Their lovely homes in Maine and Florida were open to everyone who wished to visit.

Members of her family include her husband of 44 years, Robert E. Dion of Tequesta, FL; her two children, Michael Dion and his wife Sharon, and Patricia Jeffrey and her husband Andrew, all of Hilton Head, SC; two grandchildren, Allison and Drew Jeffrey; two step-grandchildren, Ian and Loren Mason; a brother, Norman Jambard and his wife Pauline of Nashua; a sister, Rachel Hill and her husband Richard of Nashua; nieces and nephews including Suzanne Matthews, Peter Jambard, and Ricky and Doug Hill; and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Rita Dion widow Royal Dion of Hudson.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph The Worker Church, 777 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Old St. Louis Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend and are asked to gather at the church. Donations may be made in her memory to: Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997-5688.
