David Alan Gidge

David Alan Gidge, age 69, went home to the Lord on November 27, 2010, following a very brief illness. He was the husband of Jill Haynes Gidge, to whom he was married for 39 years. David was born in Nashua, NH, on September 5, 1941, the elder son of Carolyn Gidge and the late Raymond Gidge.

David graduated from Nashua High School in the Class of 1959 and attended Nashua Business College where he obtained an Associate in Business degree. He was employed and very active in the insurance industry for over 50 years, and was the founder and president of Gidge Insurance Services, Inc., from 1972 until 2000. He was active in many capacities in the First Baptist Church of Nashua for more than 38 years, and was a former organist for the Christ the King Lutheran Church of Nashua. He was a rehearsal and performance accompanist on many occasions for the Nashua Actorsingers. David loved music, theater, his friends and family and especially vacationing in Walt Disney World. Mr. Gidge was a former member of the Rotary Club West of Nashua and the Nashua Country Club for many years. David loved cooking, especially for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Haynes Gidge of Nashua, a son Kevin D. Gidge of Marysville, WA, his mother, Carolyn Gidge of Nashua and a brother Thomas B. Gidge of Leander, TX, as well as two nieces, three nephews, and a number of cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 121 Manchester Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. Friends are invited to attend. The Rev. Margaret E. Lewis, will officiate. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
