Albert J. McCaugney

Albert J. McCaugney, 93, of Nashua passed away Monday October 25, 2010 at the Courville of Nashua.

Al was born in Nashua on May 31, 1917, a son of the late John & Mary (Bowen) McCaugney. He was the widower of Rita (Kendrigan) McCaugney who died May 22, 1968.

Al was a lifelong resident of Nashua. He began his education at Sacred Heart Grammar School, continuing on to Nashua High and graduating from UNH in 1939. Al was a WWII US Army Air Corps veteran. Prior to his retirement, Al had been employed mainly as an unemployment counselor with the NH Department of Employment Security for 42 years. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church. Al was predeceased by a grandson, Brian Bedell as well as two sisters, Rose Reyor and Katherine Pirie.

Albert is survived by two sons, John McCaugney and his wife Ruthannah of Detroit, MI and Michael McCaugney and his wife Kathleen of Nashua; one daughter, Mary Bedell of Annandale, VA; three grandchildren, Kristin Byrne and her husband Paul, Cheryl Potvin and her husband Scott and Ryan McCaugney; six great-grandchildren, Sam Byrne, Charlie Byrne, Mary Alice Byrne, Patrick Byrne, Cody Potvin and Logan Potvin; also several nieces, nephews and cousins

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Thursday October 28, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 29, 2010 in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring St., Nashua at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson.
