Joan P. (Reynolds) Wandless

Joan P. Wandless, 80, of Nashua, died Saturday evening, June 19, 2010 at the Exeter Healthcare Center in Exeter, after a lengthy illness. A native of this city, Mrs. Wandless was born in Nashua on March 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Raymond and Rose Ann (Dumont) Reynolds.

Educated in local schools, Joan graduated from Nashua High School with her twin sister Jean with the Class of 1948. She furthered her education at the University of New Hampshire, graduating in 1951.

Mrs. Wandless had been employed as a key punch operator and payroll clerk with the former Improved Paper Machine Corporation and its successor Ingersoll Rand for thirty years.

Joan will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who loved people and had an outgoing personality. Among her many interests were her love of animals, reading, history and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling to Newport, Rhode Island and especially enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren.

She was the widow of William H. Wandless Sr., who died May 28, 1982, and was predeceased by her twin sister, Jean McDonough.

Members of her family include a daughter, Wanda Caswell–Miller and her spouse Richard York of Amherst; two sons, Eric R. Wandless of Nashua and William H. Wandless Jr. of Mount Pleasant, Michigan; three grandchildren, Grant Miller of Nashua, Tyler Wandless of Candia and Garrett Miller & his wife Michelle of Manchester; also two great-grandsons; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Hudson.
