David T. Glasheen
LOWELL – David T. Glasheen, 77, recently of Chelmsford, MA and former longtime Lowell resident, died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the New London Hospital in New London, NH. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Anne (Kilmartin) Glasheen in November 2002.
David was born in Lowell on January 28, 1933, the son of the late Walter M. and Teresa (Devlin) Glasheen. He was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of 1950.
Following high school, David entered the U.S. Army, and served during the Korean War. After the war, David attended University of Wisconsin Banking Institute. He worked in bank management throughout his career. Following retirement, David enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing. David was a talented oil painter, model ship builder and woodworker. He especially enjoyed completing woodworking projects that were requests of his daughters and grandchildren.
Mr. Glasheen was a devoted and loving father. He is survived by his six daughters, Susan Reeves and her husband David of New London, NH, Joan Donofrio and her husband Michael of Marlborough, MA, Ellen Day and her husband Jack of Chelmsford, MA, Jane Vendituoli and her husband Peter of Nashua, NH, Nancy Glasheen of Keene, NH, and Erin Glasheen of Statesville, NC. In addition, he is survived by his 11 grandchildren, David, Monica, Tyler, Lindsey, Luke, Erica, Jenny, Shelby, Bret, Daniel and Cole, as well as a large extended family. He was also the grandfather of the late Matthew Reeves, and the brother of the late Walter M. Glasheen, who died this past in May.
It being his wishes, services will be private.
