Myra Andrews Sobel (Mimi), 50 of 5 Sunshine CT Nashua NH, died Friday February 19, 2010 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington MA from complications of Takayasu and Heart disease. Daughter of Steve and the late Louise Andrews of Centerport LI, NY.

Born September 12, 1959 in Huntington NY, dedicated the beginning of her life to sailing with her family then teaching sailing, graduated from Smith College, sailed, worked as a Supervisor at the Bank of Boston, then at DMGT, attended Harvard Ext for Business, married and raised her two children, supported by her husband, taught computer programming at the local community college and was active in the local schools and with PTA. Mimi was the center of her family and worked with Leading Edge Electronics, the family business. She bravely faced her medical condition without ever mentioning any pain, supported others in the Takayasu Association, worked hard to keep her extended family in touch. Mimi gave one hundred percent in everything she did, she was known and loved by many, Mimi is already greatly missed.

Mimi is survived by her husband Jay Sobel and her children Christine, 16 and Lucas, 13. Siblings Jon Andrews of Mattituck, NY, Liz Baker of Freeport ME, and Kim Andrews of Glens Falls NY, in-laws Steve and Becky Sobel of Cincinnati OH and Anne Sobel of Milford NH and nieces and nephews in Freeport ME, Cincinnati OH, Milford NH and Mattituck NY, an aunt and cousins in Annapolis, Connecticut, Maryland, and England.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held Sunday March 7 from 11am to 1pm in the Clubhouse at Holden Farms at the corner of Sugar Hill Rd and Coburn, Nashua NH. We would like everyone to come. We are making a memory board and ask folks to bring a trinket, poem, photo or memento, anything that reminds you of her. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Sobel Children’s Fund at Sovereign Bank, 488 Amherst St, Nashua NH 03063.
