Albertine P. Lessard

Albertine (Pelletier) Lessard, 89, widow of Gregoire J. Lessard, and formerly of New Dunstable Road in Nashua, died Thursday evening, February 18, 2010 in Glendale, Arizona.

Mrs. Lessard was born in St. Damase, Canada on March 3, 1920, a daughter of the late Romuald and Albertine (Pellerin) Pelletier. Albertine moved to Nashua when she was four years old and made her home here for over 80 years before recently relocating to Phoenix, Arizona to reside with her daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Stewy Houle.

Mrs. Lessard attended the former St. Louis de Gonzague Parochial School and was a longtime communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church in Nashua. Albertine was a homemaker to her family and also worked at the former Nashua Mills, St. Joseph Hospital, the former Woolco Department Store and Almy’s at the Nashua Mall.

Albertine loved entertaining her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved shopping, traveling to Canada and enjoyed sewing and crotcheting.

In addition to her parents, Albertine was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Gregoire J. Lessard who died April 5, 1997; two brothers, Gerard and Romeo Pelletier; and a sister, Palmyre Belhumeur.

Members of her family include three daughters and sons-in-law, Claire and Robert “Bob” Labednick of Hollis, Diane and David Maltais and Lucille and Stewy Houle all of Phoenix, AZ; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Debbie Lessard of Chandler, AZ and Leo and Karla Lessard of Milford; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Donna and Jeff Corey, Linda and Andy Osgood, Jason Houle, Brigitte and Kelly Kennedy, Shawn Maltais, Shannon and Matt Johnson, Katrina Lessard, Jennifer and Jason Margolongo, Amanda Lessard and Joshua Lessard; seven great-grandchildren; Jordan Houle, Erica Osgood, John Osgood, Amber Kennedy, Jaxon Maltais, Johnathan Kennedy, Maxwell Maltais; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dorothy Pelletier of Hollis; a sister, Rachel Ouellette of Leominster, MA; a sister-in-law, Solange Pelletier of Merrimack; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at the FARWELL FUNERAL HOME, 18 Lock Street, Nashua on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis Street, Nashua, Friday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
