LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of shooting a Boston woman in Lowell earlier this week.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan says authorities are searching for Xavier DeJesus in connection to the death of Deija Mendez. Mendez was found in the driver seat of black Chevrolet Tahoe on Coral St. on Tuesday and pronounced dead on the scene.

Officials said in an emailed statement that DeJesus may have known the victim and had a dispute over ownership of the car Mendez was found in.

DeJesus is wanted on murder and firearm charges, authorities said.
