Massachusetts man arrested for domestic violence

NASHUA – Ivano Correia, 42, of Brockton, Mass., was taken into custody on Aug. 6 following an alleged domestic incident.
According to the Nashua Police Department, the victim reportedly told officers that Correia had strangled them, which resulted in their inability to breathe or speak.
Correia has been charged with two counts of second degree assault (strangulation) – domestic violence, tampering with witnesses and informants and domestic violence simple assault.
He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Aug. 7.
Under state law, if convicted, Correia could face up to 22 years in prison, up to 15 years of probation and up to $14,000 in fines.
