Powering Girl Scout goals

By Staff | Jul 16, 2025

MERRIMACK – When Girl Scouts sell cookies, they’re not just learning business skills, they earning the funds to power their Girl Scout goals. Troop 62222 in Merrimack, NH, saw a need for better communication and inclusion of students on their playground at Mastricola Upper Elementary School and decided to put their cookie proceeds toward two communication banners for local schools. Leader Joanne Grobecker said her Brownies learned about sign language from local teachers, about autism from the parent of a child with autism, and about electronic communication devices from a high school student who uses such a device. Now, she said, the Girl Scouts have a goal of making their community more inclusive for everyone.
