LEBANON – The Friends of Dartmouth Cancer Center announces the launch of the 44th Annual Prouty, Northern New England’s largest family-friendly fundraising event. The Prouty supports life-saving cancer research, and patient and family support services at Dartmouth Cancer Center, New Hampshire’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Participants can join in by biking, walking, or rowing in Hanover, N.H. on July 12, or by participating in the Prouty Ultimate (two days of cycling throughout New Hampshire and Vermont) on July 11-12, Prouty Golf on June 14, or at the Prouty Community Walk in St. Johnsbury, Vt. on May 17.

In addition to the full suite of routes from years past, new for 2025, the July 12 event will also include an updated hybrid gravel bike ride and two mountain bike options.

“The Prouty is at the heart of Dartmouth Cancer Center,” says Steven D. Leach, MD, director of the Dartmouth Cancer Center. “So much is made possible right here in the Upper Valley, in New England and beyond all because of the passion of our Prouty participants. The funds raised fuel our research, enable us to provide world-class care and support our patients and families as they navigate their cancer journey. Because of our Prouty community, we can deliver hope to those who need it most. We deeply appreciate what the Prouty community has helped us accomplish to date and are thrilled to launch the 44th Annual Prouty.”

Funds raised through the Prouty will have double the impact on Dartmouth Cancer Center patients and families, with all donations being matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to the generosity of the Jack and Dorothy Bryne Foundation.

“The power of the Prouty is measured in the inspiration and hope delivered to our patients and families,” says Jaclynn Rodriguez, executive director for the Friends of Dartmouth Cancer Center. “Hope starts here at the Prouty and, building off the success from last year, we have an ambitious goal of raising $10 million this year for the Dartmouth Cancer Center–an amount that will have great impact here in our community and beyond. With additional dollars raised, we will be able to further advance groundbreaking research, clinical trials, and provide even more important patient and family support services to our patients. Hope starts here. Hope starts with us. Join us!”

The Prouty began in 1982 when four Dartmouth Cancer Center nurses, inspired by the courage of their patient, Audrey Prouty, committed to cycling 100 miles through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Since then, thousands of passionate individuals have come together each year to bike, walk, row, golf, and more to help end cancer. Since its inception, the Prouty has raised more than $68 million to support cancer research and patient support services.
