U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas

Harbor Care Veterans FIRST, in partnership with U.S. Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Labor, and other service providers, will host the 17th Annual NH Stand Down, a resource and service expo for former service members experiencing homelessness or in need of assistance, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, September 8, at the Double Tree Hotel in Manchester, NH. Transportation will be provided by the VA and Harbor Care.

Henry Och, Harbor Care President and CEO said, “Harbor Care is excited to bring this important event back to Manchester for the first time in four years. The Stand Down is a great opportunity for individuals who have served in the armed forces to access important services in a single location.”

A short speaking program will commence at 10 a.m. and include U.S. Representative Chris Pappas and Kevin Forrest, Chief Executive Officer and Medical Center Director at Manchester VA Healthcare System. More guest speakers will be announced soon.

NH Stand Down vendors will feature dozens of service organizations where veterans can access resources such as employment services, medical advice, food, clothing, haircuts, legal advice, pension claim support, substance use treatment, housing solutions, counseling, and more. Participating organizations include Amazon, Clear Path for Veterans, 603 Legal Aid, Partnership for Public Health, Veterans Count, the NH Department of Military Affairs, and the Department of Labor’s Apprenticeship USA.
