Fallen light pole strikes, seriously injures woman
Webster Square Plaza, 256 Daniel Webster Highway, Nashua
NASHUA — A metal light pole in the Webster Square Plaza was toppled, probably by wind gusts, around noontime Wednesday, striking a 74-year-old shopper walking in the parking lot.
Reports indicate that the woman, who wasn’t immediately identified, sustained serious head trauma. She was treated by ambulance personnel then transported by a medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.
Nashua Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Mark Wholey told news outlets that Wednesday’s gusty winds could be a factor in the incident.
The woman’s condition wasn’t immediately known.
