(Photo by JEFFREY HASTINGS) The motorcycle that crashed on Kehoe Avenue Tuesday evening, seriously injuring the operator, is taped off while police investigate the scene.

NASHUA — Kehoe Avenue, a one-way street next to Nashua Lumber company offices that connects Marshall Street and Harbor Avenue, was closed for several hours Tuesday evening while police conducted an investigation into a motorcycle crash that reportedly left a young man with serious injuries.

The as-yet unidentified man, whom a friend said is 19 years old, appears to have lost control of his mid-size motorcycle while traveling on Kehoe Avenue.

The operator was thrown from the motorcycle, which skidded for several yards before coming to a rest near a building.

Initial indications were that the operator sustained severe injuries, including head trauma.

He was treated at the scene and rushed to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, which is just minutes from the scene.

Police closed off Kehoe Avenue for several hours as they investigated the accident. It does not appear that any other vehicles were involved.

Anyone with any information on the incident can contact Nashua police on its Crime Line, 589-1665.
