(Telegraph file photo) Former president Jimmy Carter, who is in hospice care at his Georgia home, greets supporters at a rally at the former Sheraton Wayfarer Inn in Manchester during the 1976 presidential campaign.

PLAINS, Georgia — Jimmy Carter, at age 98 the oldest living former president in U.S. history, has entered home hospice care, according to representatives of The Carter Center, the charity he founded years ago.

They said via Twitter earlier today that Carter “decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family, and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”
