PELHAM — Not long after they issued warrants for his arrest over the weekend on three felony offenses and several others accusing him of fleeing from police, detectives with the Lawrence, Massachusetts Street Narcotics Enforcement Unit contacted Pelham police asking them for assistance in locating and arresting 30-year-old suspect Dale Orr.

Orr, who has been arrested several times since 2010, mainly in Nashua and Hudson, on allegations including drug possession, theft, attempted burglary and probation violations, was believed to be somewhere in Pelham, prompting the Lawrence detectives, along with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS) to team up and work together through the day.

Shortly before 2 p.m., police said detectives confirmed that Orr was inside a residence on Mammoth Road. Roughly a half-hour later, he was in custody, having been arrested without incident, police said.

Orr was booked at Pelham police headquarters as a fugitive from justice, the result of the Lawrence warrants being extraditable in all New England states, police said.

The Massachusetts charges Orr is facing include two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, all felonies; along with one count of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor; and one count each of speeding, speeding in violation of special regulation, and failure to stop or yield, all violation-level offenses.

Police said Orr is being held without bail pending his Tuesday arraignment in Salem district court regarding his extradition to Massachusetts.
