Suspect in federal firearms-theft conspiracy case pleads guilty, awaits April sentencing

CONCORD — Nineteen year old Methuen, Massachusetts resident Johariel Quezada is scheduled to be sentenced April 13 after he pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to charges accusing him of conspiring to steal firearms from Milford Firearms and two other firearms licensees back in 2021, according to a statement issued by U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire Jane E. Young.

Quezada is accused of conspiring with others to steal firearms from Second Amendment Arms in Windham, MacPhearson Firearms in Brentwood, along with Milford Firearms.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Quezada conspired with others to steal the firearms between Aug. 29 and Oct. 4, 2021.

More than 40 firearms were stolen from the three licensees, and multiple stolen firearms were later recovered from Quezada’s residence, according to the statement.

In addition videos recovered from Quezada’s phone showed numerous stolen firearms and contained admissions of his involvement in the conspiracy.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with assistance from police in numerous jurisdictions, including Windham, Salem, Somersworth and Brentwood, along with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office; and Andover, Haverhill, Lawrence, Saugus and Wellesley, Massachusetts police and Massachusetts state police.
