CONCORD — After hosting nine public listening sessions across New Hampshire over the past eight months, the Special Committee on Voter Confidence is ready to announce its findings in a final report to be released at a public press conference Thursday afternoon.

The conference will take place at the Archives & Records Management building, 9 Ratification Way, beginning at 2 p.m. The 8-member committee will convene at 1 p.m. for its final work session.

“The report is a culmination of (the committee’s) work, and will include findings and recommendations related to voter confidence in New Hampshire,” said Anna Fay, spokeswoman for Secretary of State David Scanlan, who formed the committee in April.

“The committee’s mission, in addition to understanding the current voting system, (was) to listen, pose questions to and engage with the public to identify recommendations to address growing concerns about declines in voter confidence,” Fay said.

“As the nature of the committee is advisory only, members do not have the authority to change election laws,” she added.
