CONCORD — Federal authorities on Tuesday unsealed a 48-page indictment that accuses seven men, including 35-year-old Merrimack resident Alexey Brayman, of conspiring to obtain military-grade and dual-use technologies from U.S. companies and illegally exporting them to Russia “to be used in furtherance of Russia’s brutal war on democracy,” Breon Peace, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said in a joint statement issued by several high-ranking federal law enforcement personnel.
Brayman, who has lived at 30 Ellie Drive with his wife, Daria (Romanova) Brayman for several years, is one of two U.S. Nationals named in the indictment. It accused him and Vadim Yermolenko, 41, of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, fabricate shipping documents and invoices, repackaging and reshipping items to intermediate destinations around the world before eventually arriving in Russia.
Yermolenko and Brayman also allegedly helped alleged co-conspirator Boris Livshits, 52, of St. Petersburg, Russia, set up and manage dozens of shell companies and corresponding bank accounts throughout the U.S. that were used in the scheme, according to the indictment.
