Aviation Museum of NH to open extra days during upcoming holiday school vacation week
LONDONDERRY – This holiday season, local residents will have additional time to see all the extra aircraft.
The Aviation Museum of N.H. will be open additional days during the upcoming school vacation week.
The extra days have been added so families have time to enjoy the nonprofit’s annual Holiday Festival of Toy Planes and Model Aircraft exhibit.
This year’s exhibit will feature more than 2,000 toy planes and model aircraft on display, some dating from the Charles Lindbergh era.
Young visitors can enjoy a 12 Planes of Christmas scavenger hunt as toy planes hung from mobiles fly overhead.
During holiday vacation week, the non-profit museum will be open to the public from Tuesday, Dec. 27 through Friday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Museum admission is $10 adults 13 and over; $5 for kids age 6 to 12, seniors 65 and above, and veterans/active military. Kids 5 and under admitted free.
The museum’s normal public hours are Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 4 p.m.
“School vacation week is a great time for families to do things together,” said Jeff Rapsis, the Aviation Museum’s executive director.
“We invite everyone to come and experience our ‘Holiday Festival of Toy Planes and Model Aircraft’ during this season of shared experiences.”
Because Christmas and New Year’s Day both are on a Sunday, the museum’s usual operating hours will also change on those two holiday weekends.
The Aviation Museum will be closed for Christmas Eve on Saturday, Dec. 24 and for Christmas Day on Sunday, Dec. 25.
The Aviation Museum will also be closed for New Year’s Eve on Saturday, Dec. 31 and for New Year’s Day on Jan. 1, 2023.
The Aviation Museum will resume a normal operating schedule on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023.
The Aviation Museum of N.H., located at 27 Navigator Road, Londonderry, N.H., is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization dedicated to celebrating New Hampshire’s role in aviation history and inspiring tomorrow’s pioneers, innovators and aerospace professionals.
