NASHUA – Nashua Police, Nashua Fire Rescue, and AMR Ambulance responded to a multi-unit house on Amherst Street across from Holman Stadium Friday.

Responders arrived at the scene at about 9:00 p.m. and reported a shooting had occurred, and quickly cleared the fire and EMS crews without transporting anyone from the scene.

Police surrounded the sidewalk in front of 56 Amherst Street with yellow tape, and set up a white tent in front of the address near a porch.

A short time later Nashua Officers and a K9 Approached a door on the left side of the building and alerted they were making entry. Police could be heard using a ramming device to break down the door, and made entry into the building.

As the officers proceeded through the dark building, flashlights could be seen as they appear to search the building. After about 30 minutes they exited the building, and then returned a second time with a K9 searching the yard and a large garage. No one was found and police remained at the scene.

A short time later a person from the NH Office of the Chief Medical Examiner arrived at the scene. They could be seen entering the building and appearing to be taking photos on the porch and near the front door of the building.

Nashua Police indicated to a local TV station that there was no danger to the public.

A neighbor told our reporter that the property manager has been having ongoing issues with people trying to sleep on the porch, it is unknown if this could be connected to the incident.

We have reached out to the Nashua Police Department and the NH Attorney General’s Office, and at this time has not received any official information.
