NASHUA — A passenger in a vehicle operated by 24-year-old Nashua resident Matthew Lowman called police saying she feared for her safety due to Lowman’s alleged erratic driving and the fact he pulled over on the Everett Turnpike and allegedly fired several shots into the tree line, police said.
While state police troopers were unable to intercept the vehicle on the turnpike, they did succeed in tracking it to an undisclosed Nashua residence, where they met Nashua officers and spoke with the woman.
Troopers learned that the male operator, later identified as Lowman, was driving south on the turnpike when he pulled over, exited the vehicle, and allegedly proceeded to fire 4-5 rounds into the woods.
Officers charged Lowman with reckless conduct involving a firearm, and said the investigation “remains open and ongoing.”
Troopers later determined the rounds were fired in the area of mile marker 10.2 in Merrimack. They searched the area for injured people and damage, but nothing was found.

Anyone with any information on the incident is asked to contact Trooper Kyle Foster at 223-8492 or kyle.b.foster@dos.nh.gov.
