Election Day update: Voting brisk in most locales; no significant problems reported as of noon

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Writer | Nov 8, 2022

(Telegraph photo by DEAN SHALHOUP) A voter walks past campaign volunteers holding sign totems after casting his ballot this morning at the Ledge Street Elementary School, Nashua's Ward 4 polling place.

Voter turnout was reported to be steady, and occasionally brisk, this morning at most Greater Nashua polling places, as candidates spread themselves as thinly as possible in order to meet and greet as many voters as possible.

In Nashua, voter check-in lines varied throughout the morning, but no long waiting times were reported.

In Merrimack, however, an estimated 300 voters had already taken their places in a line that stretched around most of the James Mastricola Upper Elementary School, the town’s Ward 1 polling place, by the time it opened.

A significant number of residents went to the polls to register to vote.

Staff and attorneys in the office of Attorney General John Formella are manning its Election Day hotline through 8 p.m. this evening.
