Hollis PD adds ‘shred day,’ food drive to Saturday’s DEA drug take-back day

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Oct 28, 2022

HOLLIS — In addition to hosting the semi-annual DEA drug take-back day on Saturday, the police department will also host its annual shred day, collect food for the Shepherd’s Fund, and have coffee available for Coffee with a Cop.

The events will take place from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at police headquarters, 9 Silver Lake Road.

Shred Day gives residents the opportunity to bring along any personal documents they wish to have destroyed. While staples, paper clips and file folders are accepted, non-paper items, such as batteries and any type of electronics, are not accepted, as they may damage the shred truck and cause a fire.

Only personal documents are allowed, no business or commercial documents accepted.

Shredding is provided by New England Medwaste data destruction.
