CONCORD — Adam Montgomery, long a suspect in the disappearance and death of his 5-year-old daughter, Harmony Montgomery, was charged this morning with four felony counts, one of which is second-degree murder, accusing him of causing the girl’s death nearly 5 years ago.

Attorney General John Formella said at a roughly 15-minute press conference that the charge accuses Montgomery of repeatedly striking Harmony in the head with a closed fist.

Montgomery is also charged with one count each of abuse of corpse, tampering with witnesses or informants, and falsifying physical evidence.

Montgomery was transported from Valley Street jail to Manchester police headquarters for booking around 10:30 this morning. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges tomorrow in Hillsborough County Superior Court North.
